The analysis of the stressed state of the pipe filter under the influence of external loads made it possible to establish the nature and magnitude of dangerous stresses in claydite concrete and to conclude that it is necessary to revise the previous approach to the selection of claydite concrete because the traditional method - selection for compressive strength - does not correspond to the actual operation of the pipe filter as a construction, under the influence of operational loads. In order to improve the performance characteristics of claydite-concrete products, a method for optimizing the open porosity of the aggregate by partially filling the pores with cement paste at the stage of compacting concrete is proposed.
