Abstract

The technology of protecting ramps, sidewalks and paths from snow and ice using electric heating mats is described, their device is shown and technical specifications are given; their advantages in comparison with other electric means of
protection against snow and ice are listed; schemes for laying heating mats for various types of external coatings for ramps, sidewalks and walkways are given; a method for controlling snow and ice protection systems using an "intelligent" module is considered VIADU-20; summarized the results of the practical use of various systems of protection against snow and ice;
recommendations for their further effective use are given.
