Abstract

This article addresses the problems of urban sprawl and sealing around the world. The actual statistics on the growth of large cities are given, modern problems of metropolitan areas are considered. The basic principles for the improvement of dense urban development and the renovation of residential areas by the example of the United States of America are analyzed.
