Abstract

The article proposes to consider the architecture of residential areas as an important part of the general system of the
city, actively participating in the processes of its coevolutionary integration into the environment. This means that the formation of the architectural component of residential areas should take place in such a way that their consumption of social, technological and natural resources of the region does not lead to environmental degradation. The architecture of residential areas of post-industrial cities is forced to transform under the pressure of new realities of the time. In this case, the fourth industrial revolution, the demographic transition, the globalization of economies, the shortages of vital resources, the exacerbation of environmental factors and many other aspects introduced intо the life of the city by the processes of the developmentof our civilization are meant. This article is the first of a series of intended works whose purpose is to develop
a concept for co-evolutionary integration into the natural environment of the city’s residential areas.
