Every social utopia includes urban ideal, which meets the general social ideas of its author. Urban component of social utopias was the focus of a professional community in the USSR of 1920 – 1930s. The idea of "Sotsgorod" became
the result of the long polemics. A new city was to deny totally weaknesses of contemporary capitalist city and through its plan to provide the slightest socialist reconstruction of capitalist life into communist. At the same time new urban works of Soviet architects often had text forms close to utopias. They were more voluminous, extensive, detailed in content, than further practical implementation. Utopian ideas have influenced the architectural practice of 1920 – 1930s, of course. And they left their mark in the urban structure of the capital of Soviet Ukraine at that time: new industrial area New Kharkov, the new administrative center of Kharkov city, etc. These structures have not been fully implemented, but what was implemented few innovative and has become an integral part of the urban heritage of the twentieth century.
