Abstract

In the article, the results of the morphological analysis of the entrance dominants of film studios are compared and updated, their figurative-plastic and structural characteristics are determined. Today, there is a lack of understanding of film studios in architectural theory. The technologically verified way of building such an object does exist, but its artistic components are the subject of discussion. It is difficult to compare are the studios because of their different periods of constructing, instead it makes sense to explore their individual parts. Thus, in this article attempt is made to structure and generalize the world experience of creation of entrance dominants of film studios. Author formulated their classification features and highlighted the main types and subtypes. Such a division allows to better understand the compositional morphology of the dominant forms, which should facilitate further scientific and artistic study of material objects of the architectural and natural environment of film studios.
