Abstract

Today it becomes obvious that in the conditions of the global ecological crisis and the irreversibility of natural processes it is necessary to adopt ecology as a new ideology of architectural, landscape and urban planning. Rethinking the role of nature in the concept of a modern city and the search for new scientifically grounded approaches to the formation of urban space would allow post-industrial cities to most painlessly fit into the ecosystem of the planet. This article considers the European experience in designing the urban environment using fundamentally new models of the relationship between city and nature.
