Abstract

Metal load-bearing towers to support high chimneys and ventilation pipes are an integral part of many technological processes of industrial enterprises and their decommissioning leads to the cessation of all production. During the whole long service
life, metal bearing towers are under the influence of force, dynamic, corrosion and temperature influences. All these factors adversely affect the service life of metal load-bearing towers for chimneys and ventilation pipes and lead to the formation and accumulation of defects and damage. Based on the data of many numerical inspections of the technical condition of metal
load-bearing towers, defects and damages are classified according to different types and values, statistical processing of damage is carried out, their classification depending on the hazard category is carried out, measures to eliminate and prevent their further development are proposed.
