ПЛАСТИЧНА РОЛЬ МОЗАЇЧНИХ ПАННО В АРХІТЕКТУРІ ХАРКОВА 1960-х–1970-х РОКІВ

Abstract

. The article continues the series of studies devoted to identifying the role and place of decor in the design of architectural structures and the evolution its content, methods of formation during the twentieth century. The article examines the architectural heritage of the Soviet past. Emphasis is placed on mosaic and decorative panels left on the walls of buildings of
the 1960s - 1970s on the example of the city of Kharkiv. To date, not enough attention has been paid to the peculiarities of the use of decor in the architecture of this period, no inventory has been performed, features, materials and techniques of mosaic works have not been identified to form a visual image of buildings and architectural environment of Kharkiv. As a result of physical destruction, non-professional restorations and reconstructions, repairs, the number of monumental and decorative panels of this period has significantly decreased and continues to decrease. The article analyzes several mosaic decorative works in order to identify techniques of execution, compositional means of education, ideological content and role in the three-dimensional organization of the city.
