The article highlights issues of transformation, modernization and reconstruction of urban buildings. At the same time, the longevity of exploitation of buildings increases, the environment improves, new technologies for repair, restoration and reconstruction of buildings and structures are formed. Considerable experience has been gained in the revitalization of buildings for various purposes recently. Sufficient amount of instructive and recommended documents,
manual and technical instructions for load bearing capacity of the buildings structural elements are developed. The physical condition of many industrial buildings allows them to operate for more than one decade. As a rule, the buildings that are vacated are in the middle of residential areas. This causes close attention to industrial buildings with the aim of
transforming them into social facilities. Knowledge and skillful application of modern methods used in the reconstruction of buildings is the key to the quality performance of these works and their subsequent operation with a new functional purpose. Re-profiling of industrial enterprises allows not only to obtain new social facilities (markets, sports complexes, garages, exhibition halls, shops, etc.), which are usually not enough in small districts, but also reduce the cost of mastering of developing urban areas. In multi-story industrial buildings, it is advisable to place multi-tier garages, sports facilities, multidisciplinary shopping centers, covered markets, exhibition halls. The top floors of can be occupied with sports dances, acrobatics, artistic gymnastics, fitness and sports. Butt of such reprofiling is such as multidisciplinary sports center "Tulsky". Examples of redesigning buildings abroad include buildings such as the Manufactura cotton factory in Poland, which was rebuilt into the Shopping and Entertainment Center in 2006.
